This futon mattress is an absolute BEAST. But that's not a bad thing. It's 12" thick once properly aired out (I gave it 2-3 days). While bulky, it is manageable for one person to get onto a futon frame and into the folded seat position (the first time folding will take some effort for one person). Futon mattresses are not bed mattresses, so if you are planning to sleep on this, be advised that it is FIRM but comfortable to sleep on. I expect it will loosen a bit over time if sleeping on it.I have found this product to be of very high quality and expect it to last a good long time. I knocked off a star because of the cost, but I am still very glad I purchased it. I recommend this product.
