it's been two weeks since we have this thing. I have two children and I did not want to shortcut the 6 y.o. bought this one for the growing boy. I though if this works out he can keep growing. It does: sturdy: there are 12 pairs of slats, connecting with some plastic head to the metal frame so for now he can jump on it (I bought a foam mattress for the cozy feeling). It looks better than the fake leather implies. The frame rests on the legs (visible on the picture) which makes it standing firm. He completely moved out of our bed. Worth the price.Takes about two hours to assemble, I did it all myself, hauling it up to the 2nd floor. OK, the little boy helped with the bolts.The slats could be finished better but that is easy to fix and sort out (watch out for some splinters). The full size frame we got sits pretty snug. Perhaps, the young girl will get something like this when ready.
